Overview

We are seeking an Electrical Testing Field Engineer to support the testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical power systems across data centers, industrial facilities, utility infrastructure, and other critical environments. This role offers the opportunity to work with advanced electrical equipment while ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities
- Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing of electrical power distribution systems.
- Test, calibrate, program, and troubleshoot protective relays and metering equipment.
- Conduct testing on circuit breakers, transformers, switchgear, motor control centers, and related electrical equipment.
- Support equipment startup, system energization, and commissioning activities.
- Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and construction drawings.
- Analyze test results and identify equipment or system deficiencies.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and support root cause investigations.
- Prepare detailed test reports and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, contractors, and clients throughout project execution.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED with 4+ years of electrical testing, commissioning, maintenance, or field service experience; OR
- Associate Degree with 2+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Bachelor's Degree with 1+ years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel to customer sites throughout Virginia and surrounding regions.
- Experience working with electrical distribution systems, relays, transformers, breakers, or switchgear.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- NETA or NICET certification.
- Experience with Doble, Omicron, Megger, Vanguard, Fluke, or similar electrical test equipment.
- Knowledge of NETA, IEEE, NEC, NFPA 70E, and OSHA standards.
- Experience performing relay testing, transformer testing, insulation resistance testing, power factor testing, and breaker testing.
- Experience supporting data centers, utility systems, industrial facilities, substations, or other critical infrastructure environments.
- Familiarity with medium-voltage and high-voltage electrical systems.
